Switchboard thermal imaging is a unique service because it requires a registered electrical contractor licence (REC) and additional certification (AS ISO 18436.7:2014), meaning that not every electrician can do it. Always check that your contractor is qualified and certified.
Dodgy unlicensed contractors:
– Have no insurance
– Are underqualified
– Won’t provide accurate data
– Provide poor interpretation of data
– Risk electrical faults going undetected
– Will sign off as safe (but it’s really not) -
How long does switchboard thermal imaging take?
Generally, it takes about 15 minutes to an hour per switchboard. We are adaptable and can work around your hospital’s schedule.
Is the process disruptive? Absolutely not. Our thermal imaging is conducted with discretion, allowing your hospital to operate uninterrupted.

How do I prepare for switchboard thermal imaging?
The area around the switchboard should be prepared so it is accessible by our team, including the switchboard case being unlocked/opened. The power should be on (and remain on) during the service, which is completed during normal operating hours so that any faults can be detected when the business is using power as normal.
